Our client the fastest-growing CDMO worldwide. To grow their business within Germany, the company is searching for an Account Executive - Early Stage Biologics Drug Substance and Product (m/f/d). The job is home office-based.

Description and responsibilities

The Account Executive's goal is to identify, qualify, and pursue business opportunities within a defined geographic territory, focusing on selling pre-clinical and early phase clinical development services, for orally administered dosage forms, to customers across the whole of the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries.
  • Proactively developing business opportunities for contract manufacturing by prospecting for and calling on pharmaceutical and biotech companies
  • Partnering with internal sales/marketing and technical support teams to quickly assess and qualify drug target pursuits
  • Responding to incoming Biopharmaceutical leads and inquiries from multi-sources, and qualify through business analysis, customer evaluations and strategic fit
  • Engaging in the preliminary selling stage of the sales cycle—prepare baseline price proposals and scope of work as part of the initial qualification process
  • Presenting the value proposition for our client's capabilities and services to customers, and facilitating on-site capabilities presentations and tours
  • Increasing the financial return of each project by maximizing each lead and educating the customer on all of the solutions available through our client
  • Ensuring a successful transition to Project Management when appropriate, while maintaining strong client relationships leading to future business development opportunities

Your profile

  • Fluent in German and English preferred
  • B.Sc./B.A. degree (or equivalent) is required in a scientific or business related discipline
  • Several years experience in business development in biologics
  • Experience with early phase (PC to PhIIb) development strongly preferred
  • Proven track record with new account penetration is required
  • Ability to effectively build strong relationships within all levels/disciplines of a biopharma account—matrix approach involving both functional representation and multiple levels of senior management
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to understand financial analytics, prioritize multiple tasks, and drive projects to completion
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry and its key players
  • Reports to the Regional Director Early Stage/Small Scale Europe, collaborates with the wider EU BD team, North American BD team and the support functions for marketing and inside sales
